Indian Institute of Management Ranchi has become the first IIM to start a community library.
The community library at Ranchi airport was inaugurated on Thursday evening in the presence of IIM Ranchi director Deepak Kumar Srivastava and airport director K.L. Aggarwal. The library will be open to all passengers, providing them access to a wide range of books across genres.
“We are the first IIM to start such an innovative concept of a community library in an airport and we plan to start a similar library at the Ranchi railway station in the next few months. Talks are in the final phase with the railway authorities,” Srivastava said.
“This initiative is in collaboration with the Aarambha Foundation and the Airports Authority of India. The idea of a community library aligns with IIM Ranchi’s... commitment to engage with citizens through various forums...,” IIM Ranchi said in a statement.
