Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi (IIM-R) and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, in an online event on Friday signed an MoU to work together and motivate more youths to become entrepreneurs.
Under the MoU, both institutes will join hands to provide training and counselling in entrepreneurship and management to the students besides conducting orientation programmes for the faculty members of both IIM-R and EDII.
The venture aims to create a conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem through the setting up of an incubation centre in Ranchi and offering several programmes for students and faculty, sources at IIM-R said.
The institutes will develop certificate courses on entrepreneurship development and skill enhancement. Efforts will be made to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jharkhand and neighbouring states under student exchange and faculty development programmes, IIM-R sources said.
“The future will nurture only those businesses that are forward-looking, knowledge-based and possess the ability to withstand crises and major catastrophes,” EDII director-general Sunil Shukla said.
He said the Covid-19 crisis had shown the world how businesses needed to pre-empt and be prepared for crises beyond just the market upheavals and financial emergencies.
“This partnership will help us get technical support to create an environment for entrepreneurship,” said IIM-R director Shailendra Singh.
