Jamshedpur Women’s University will soon get a vice-chancellor and a registrar.
The department of higher, technical education and skill development has decided to start the post-sanctioning process after March 20. The department has sent the details to Raj Bhavan so that the process could be started soon after March 20. Once the posts are sanctioned, the appointment process shall begin. The posts to be sanctioned initially will be of vice-chancellor and registrar.
After governor and chancellor of state universities Droupadi Murmu approved the upgrade under Jharkhand State Universities (Amendment) Act, 2017, in February 2019 nothing much was done for the university.
In February 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation of the university from Srinagar, making it the first such institution for women’s higher education in Bihar and Jharkhand.
“Necessary steps are being taken by the department to make the process faster. We expect the two appointments will be done by April,” said an official of the state higher, technical education and skill development.
