Telegraph PictureJharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday visited his ancestral village Nemra in Ramgarh district, along with his family members, including his father Shibu Soren. The former chief minister was welcomed with the Guard of Honour by the district police force, after which the family attended an ongoing religious ceremony at the village.
Hemant inspected the Sarna site, discussed the construction of a road from Barlaga Bazartand to Kasamar and heard out the problems of the villagers during his visit. He said that development work was progressing rapidly across the state, and urged everyone to save themselfves from Covid-19.
Talking to reporters later, the chief minister said, "I have come to attend the Baha Parva organised by the society at my birthplace to stay connected to the traditions."
