A tweet from a well-wisher to Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren has helped a man bring back the body of his elder brother, who died in Dubai, to Bokaro.
The only solace for Mohammad Zahid Akhtar’s grief-stricken family is that they would see his mortal remains for a last time.
“I got a call from the Calcutta airport authorities today asking me to be present when my brother’s body arrives on Friday” Zahid’s youngest brother Abid said on Thursday. He said it wouldn’t have been possible unless the chief minister had taken the initiative.
Zahid, 48, died of a heart attack in Dubai on June 18. Soren tweeted with “earnest request” to Union external affairs minister S. Jaishankar “to facilitate the repatriation of the mortal remains” of Zahid.
