A string of draws in ISL, so what? Jamshedpur FC still commands spontaneous love from Jamshedpur fans, robust ticket sales for the November 25 home match are proving.

Over 16,000 tickets have already been sold out for the match at the 23,700-capacity JRD Tata Sports Complex, where JFC will take on Chennaiyin FC.

Tickets are sold till the morning of a match, but it seems the 7,000-plus tickets wouldn’t last 10 more days.

Tickets of Rs 50 and Rs 100 at the stadium’s northern and southern stands are exhausted, both offline and online (via digital wallets Paytm and insider.in), a JFC official looking after infrastructure and ticketing aspects told this paper on Wednesday.

Currently, JRD complex can seat 23,700 compared to 24,774 earlier. The reduced capacity is due to the newly installed bucket seats on the upper tier of eastern stands. The official added there was demand for tickets of Rs 200 (southwest, southwest upper stand), Rs 350 (east lower stand), Rs 400 (west lower stand) and Rs 3,000 (hospitality).

JFC have played seven matches, won two and drawn five. Jamshedpur won against Mumbai City FC and FC Goa. The ties versus Bengaluru FC, ATK, Northeast United FC, Kerala Blasters FC and Delhi Dynamos FC ended in a draw.

“The five draws by JFC haven’t reduced crowd loyalty. Ticket sales point to this enthusiasm,” a JFC team management member said.

Asked, Pratik Sinha, a student of Jamshedpur Co-operative College who bought a ticket for Rs 100 for the November 25 match, said he hoped JFC would win. “Enough of draws. Our team won against Mumbai and Goa, but drew in all others.” But Kadma fan Bablu Mahto, who bought a Rs 100 ticket hoping city player Gourav Mukhi would play on November 25, said he was okay with a draw. “We shouldn’t lose, that’s all,” he smiled.

JFC players Jerry Mawihmingthanga and Emerson Gomes de Moura (Memo) visited Mount Litera Zee School at Pardih on Jamshedpur outskirts on Wednesday, Children’s Day, where they spoke about football with students.
