Trains were cancelled, delayed, rescheduled or short-terminated as a result. Normal train services in the division were restored on Sunday evening after 4.30pm, a spokesperson of Ranchi railway division said.

Several trains such as Bokaro Steel City-Ranchi Passenger, Kharagpur-Garbeta-Ranchi-MEMU Passenger, Dhanbad-Ranchi Intercity Express, Deoghar-Ranchi Express, Hatia-Kharagpur Passenger and Kharagpur-Hatia Passenger were cancelled.

The Patna-Ranchi Jan Shatabdi Express was short-terminated at Muri railway station.

The Dhanbad-Alappuzha Express left Dhanbad at a rescheduled time at 1pm instead of 10.30pm on Sunday. The departure of Tatanagar-Alappuzha Link Express was rescheduled by two-and-half hours, at 6pm instead of 3.30pm.

The Tatanagar-Hatia Passenger left Tatanagar at a rescheduled time of 12.30pm instead of 11.30am while the Ranchi-Asansol MEMU Passenger left at a rescheduled time of 3.15pm instead of 12.30pm.

The traffic-cum-power block delayed several trains that ferry a sizeable number of people every day, such as the Howrah-bound Janshatabdi Express by 45 minutes from its arrival time at Tatanagar at 5pm and Titlagarh-bound Ispat Superfast Express by one hour from its arrival time of 2.20pm.
