Schools are waiting for the board to clarify the guidelines because there have been a lot of last-minute changes because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Though the uploaded schedule has asked students to follow a protocol, which includes bringing their own sanitisers, covering their mouth with mask or cloth, and observing physical distancing. Also, parents will have to ensure their child is not sick.

“Schools will need proper guidelines because CBSE allows 24 students per room and most of the schools use it to their full capacity. Since a lot of things have changed and we are amid a crisis, we don’t know how to manage the situation,” said Namita Agarwal, principal of Jamshedpur Public School. The principal of Ghatshila’s Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir, Sanjay Kumar Mallick, agreed. “Usually the notifications come on our emails but we too started watching it on news as the HRD minister tweeted it. I then saw it on the website but we are still waiting for proper instructions,” said Mallick.

According to the new schedule, Class XII home science has been scheduled for July 1, business studies for July 9 and biotechnology for July 10.
