Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday instructed state police to look into the charges of lack of leave sanctions by the Department affecting the participation of seven out of nine Lawn Ball players selected for the selection trial of commonwealth games.

The CM order came as a response to a tweet made by Congress MLA of Jamtara, Irfan Ansari.

The issue of lack of leave sanction was first raised by Dinesh Kumar, one of the selected Lawn Ball player of the state, who through a tweet sought help from Jamtara MLA for getting leave to be present in Delhi at the trial camp before March 21 otherwise they will be thrown out of the team.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren while reacting to the tweet of Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari retweeted, " please look into the matter @JharkhandPolice at the earliest.

"Our players are our pride and we are committed to ensuring that they get all opportunities to reach the highest level playing for the state and nation," he wrote.

Notably, altogether 9 players have been selected for the national level selection trial from Jharkhand for the commonwealth games scheduled in July out which of which seven are Jharkhand police constables.

Though Jharkhand Bowling Association has already petitioned to ADG of Jharkhand Armed Police in this regard on March 2 requesting to grant three months leave to all these 7 players from Match 12 but the police are yet to sanction the leave affecting the participation of seven players.

The seven selected players of Jharkhand police included Dinesh Kumar, Krishna Khalko, Lovely Chaubey, Sarita Tirkey, Farzana Khan, Sunil Bahadur, and Alok Lakra.

This apart two other players from the state selected for the selection trial for the event included, the sports officer of Jamtara, Rupa Tirkey, and an unemployed youth Chandan Singh.

Madhukant Pathak, General Secretary of Jharkhand Bowling Association said, "Nine players of the state have been selected for the selection trial camp scheduled from March 15 for which the request letter has already been given to JAP ADG on March 2 for leave sanction of seven players working in police on sports quota but their leave is yet to be sectioned affected their participation "

"It is a proud moment for the state that as many as nine players have been selected for the selection trial for but seven who belong to the police employed through sports quota are yet to gets leave to participate in trial camp," said Pathak.
