Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan on Monday cautioned chief minister Hemant Soren against “falling into the trap of Congress”.

Interacting with the media in Bokaro on Monday, Narayan said: “Congress is eyeing the mineral wealth of Jharkhand and will lose no opportunity to plunder the recourses of the state as it did during the Madhu Koda government by using him as puppet. So I would request chief minister Hemant Soren to not fall for the game plan of Congress, which has a history of corruption.”

The BJP MLA said Hemant had spent his childhood in Bokaro and Narayan had high hopes from him.

“He will ensure the development of Bokaro and other parts of the state and I would soon meet him to discuss the development plans for Bokaro,” said Narayan, who was elected for second consecutive term in the recently concluded Assembly elections.

Taking a swipe at the poll promises made by Congress and JMM, Narayan said it was time they fulfilled them.

“In its manifesto, the Congress had promised to provide jobs to 1.5 lakh youths within six months if it came to power. The JMM, on the other hand, promised to provide allowance worth Rs 5,000 to graduate degree holders and Rs 7,000 to each post-graduate degree holders per month.

I would request the state government to provide the allowances to unemployed youths as a relief to them till they landed a job,” he said.

Highlighting Hemant’s claims of returning the unused land acquired for the construction of steel plant, Narayan said: “During his campaigs, Hemant had said if he came to power he would ensure that the unused land, taken several decades ago for the purpose of constructing a steel plant, will be returned to the displaced. I would request the government to initiate process as soon as possible.”

Narayan said he would request the chief minister to constitute a displacement commission in accordance with his poll promise.

“I would also urge the chief minister to continue the welfare schemes launched by former chief minister Raghubar Das,”the BJP MLA added.

On his plan for the development of Bokaro, Narayan said: “I would ensure the completion of all pending work and the launch of commercial flight facility from Bokaro airport, whose construction has reached the final stage.

“I would also work to launch the pilot training institute at Bokaro as soon as possible,” Narayan said.
