Residents spotted the body around 7 in the morning and informed police.

A police team sent the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary.

Officer-in-charge of Ulidih police station, Dhananjay Baitha, said they were not sure whether it was a case of suicide or murder.

“Only an autopsy report can unfold the told,” Baitha said.

“We have decided to keep the body in the morgue for the next 72 hours so that the family members of the deceased can turn up and identify the body,” the police officer said.

Police sources said the man must be local resident because the possibility of the man coming from a far off place at the time of lockdown was slim.

“The current restriction on the movement of vehicles would have made it difficult for the man come from a place far away. The family members will turn up at the morgue while searching for the deceased sooner or later,” a police officer said adding that they suspect suicide.
