BJP workers in Bokaro will set up centres fitted with LED screens to ensure that at least 5,000 party workers in all the four Assembly constituencies attend the virtual rally to be addressed by Union steel and petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan on June 21.

The legislators and the social media cell of the party have been at work to make the rally successful, motivating the residents to watch the live rally on their cell phones and tabs.

Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan said they would install centres, dividing Bokaro Assembly constituency into nine zones.

“We are trying to accommodate about 40 party workers in each centre, complying with social distancing norms and other standard-operating procedures. About 2,500 party workers and residents will watch the rally live in Bokaro constituency alone,” he said.

Chandankyari legislator Amar Bauri’s social media team is creating awareness among the people about watching the rally on their cell phones.

Bauri said, “We are also planning to install LED screens and projectors to watch the rally. We have set up up centres in different panchayats, with all precautions. Thousands of people in Chandankyari are expected to be part of it.”

The main objective behind the state-level virtual rally is to promote the BJP’s performance in solving issues related to triple talaq, removal of Sections 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir, and others, said Sanjay Tyagi, a BJP district unit leader.

Although the rally is supposed to focus on strengthening the party, the BJP workers expect that Pradhan’s address will also include the issue of industrial development in this Covid-19 situation.

They expect Pradhan to announce something to benefit Bokaro, which is an industrial town having steel plants and CBM gas exploration wells.

The virtual rally is expected to motivate the entrepreneurs and companies, apart from party cadres.

During an earlier visit in August 2019, Pradhan met party workers, PSU officials, businessmen and entrepreneurs and discussed the problems faced by them.

Pradhan had then announced that the steel ministry is focused on industrial development in Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal.

He had said the steel ministry was working out a plan to form a steel cluster in Bokaro as it is geographically located in the centre of the three states.

BJP workers in Giridih are also preparing for the virtual rally.

Programme in-charge of the Prakash Seth said a target has been set to add one crore viewers across the state.
