BIT Sindri students inundated with job offers

Corporate bigwigs are making a beeline to recruit students from the institute

It’s raining jobs for students of the lone state owned Engineering institute, BIT Sindri.

Aditya Birla Group, with a workforce of 1.5 employees of 100 nationalities lapped up 39 B Tech final year students of 2019-22 of the institute on a pay package of Rs 6. 6 lakh per annum (LPA).

The selected students, included 11 from Mechanical Engineering, eight from Chemical engineering, seven each from Metallurgical Engineering and Mining Engineering and six frrom Electrical. Expressing happiness over the achievement, Ghanshyam Rai, Training and Placement officer of the institute, said, “With the latest achievement our placement figure has touched 280 for the current batch as only on November 23, four students including three of Electronics & Communication Engineering and one of IT were also selected by Tech Mahindra, which is listed in Forbes Fab 50 Companies of Asia.

A day before the Tech Mahindra placement, 10 final year students including, three of Mechanical Engineering, two of IT and One each of Metallurgical, Mining, Civil, Chemical and Computer Science Engineering were also offered jobs by Larsen and Toubro Ltd for a package of Rs 6 lakh per annum.

A maximum 53 students in recent times, including 10 of Chemical Engineering, eight of Production Engineering, seven of IT, five each of Mining Engineering and Electronics & Communication, four each of Civil, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical engineering besides three each of Metallurgical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering however were offered job by Wipro Limited on November 18.

“All the faculty members and staff of the institute encouraged the students to keep up the enthusiasm and at the same time keep honing up their skills in an ever evolving world” said Rai and added that the maximum 55 students of present batch were lapped up for a pay package of Rs 3.6 lakh Per annum.

“We are also thankful to our student placement coordinators led by final year student, Madhav who worked religiously coordinating with the various recruiters,” Rai said adding out of a batch of 750 students, around 550 are eligible for campus placement as per the criteria of recruiters.

Dharmendra Kumar Singh, Director of BIT Sindri, while congratulating the selected students, also lauded the effort of the placement team of the institute led by Rai.
