College admissions, usually held between May and June but delayed this year because of the pandemic, will start from Wednesday via the Chancellor Portal.
Kolhan University proctor and spokesperson A.K. Jha said that aspiring students can start filling in forms on the website, www.jharkhanduniversities.nic.in from Wednesday, August 5.
Students can fill up the streams and subjects of their choice, and can also fill up the names of the colleges they wish to seek admission in.
“Finally the admission process is all set to start. It is delayed but at least the online system is not affected by the pandemic. Students will have to follow the same process as every year, and will be allotted colleges as per their choice and subject availability,” said Jha.
The application process on the Chancellor Portal started in 2018 where aspiring students to all state universities could apply. The names of the universities are Kolhan University, Ranchi University, Nilamber-Pitamber University, Binod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University, Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Vinoba Bhave University and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi.
Once they fill the form through their self-created log in id and are allotted colleges, the latter would be responsible for the physical verification of all student documents. The verification of documents will be done by the colleges before the admission.
Jha added, "Colleges will verify all documents and then take admissions. If a student has sought admission in honours and has fed his marks accordingly, his/her name might appear in merit list but it would be rejected at the college level if physical verification reveals any discrepancy.”
