5 die in bike-car crash

Five people died in a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Thursday around 3pm at Giridih district’s Joda Pahari on Dumri-Giridih Road under the Muffasil police station area.

Police said on Thursday that the speeding car first hit the bike and later dashed into a tree.

Among the five deceased, two were in the car and three others were riding on the bike.

Police said the bike, with the three friends, was going out of Giridih, while the car was travelling towards Giridih.

Muffasil police station in-charge Ratnesh Mohan Thakur said that the deceased had been identified.

Those on the bike (JH-10BC-4913) were Beni Lal Hansda, Somra Tudu and Patia Tudu of Kamlasindha village. Md Aslam and Md Shahid Ansari a.k.a. Babla from Bisunpur and Dandia villages were in the car (JH-11P-0374).

Muffasil police station in-charge Thakur said the mishap happened around 3.30pm when four men died on the spot and the fifth succumbed in the hospital.
