Neetu and her family members were not present at the house when the body was found. She was in Patna for the last few days.

Someone tipped off police about the body at the MLA’s house around 4.30pm. Nawada superintendent of police (SP) Ambrish Rahul rushed a team to the place.

“The police discovered the body in the room of one Golu Singh, a nephew of Neetu Singh. Our forensic experts and dog squads have also been roped in,” Rahul told reporters.

Golu happens to be the son of Neetu’s brother-in-law Suman Singh and Abha Singh, a former district president of the Congress. Deceased Piyush was his cousin.

According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest Piyush had gone to Golu’s house at 7pm on Friday, but did not return. He seemed to have been killed on Friday night. The body was sent for post-mortem and the MLA’s house was searched. The police suspect the involvement of Golu in the incident.
