The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab termed Sushil Kumar Rinku and Sheetal Angural as traitors after they joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). AAP said that both the leaders were elected by the people because they were fielding on the AAP tickets but now they are betraying the people of Jalandhar and their trust.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on his X account wrote, "Apne wallon tan dareya vadde ghar janda hai...Par vich samundar jake o marr janda hai...Gardan sidhi rakhan da mull taar rahein han...Besharman da tan nivin pa ke v sar janda hai." He was taking a dig at leaders who left the AAP to join the bigger political party and said that he is always committed to guard Punjab's glory and honour.

Reacting to this switch the AAP Punjab issued a statement saying that Sushil Rinku was defeated by people in the Punjab Assembly polls, but the Aam Aadmi Party picked him up and made him an MP from Jalandhar. Both Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann campaigned for him, and helped him get a massive victory. He turned out to be a traitor. He only won because he was a candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party but after witnessing his betrayal the people of Jalandhar will completely reject him.

About Sheetal Angural, the party said that the BJP gives big offers to lure opposition leaders to their party and only a strong leader can survive this war against corruption and dictatorship. The people of Punjab never supported a traitor and in the upcoming elections they will once again show such people that it is the ideology of the Aam Aadmi Party and the work of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann that they vote for the AAP.
