Six air force officers have been charged with murder in Bangalore after a 27-year-old trainee cadet, Ankit Jha, was allegedly found hanging in one of the rooms at the Air Force Technical College (AFTC) on Wednesday.
Police said the suspects hold the ranks of air commodore, group captain and wing commander.
The air force has in a statement said an inquiry held after a woman officer complained against Ankit had found him guilty of “acts of misconduct” and his training was terminated on September 20.
The Bangalore police said the murder case had been registered on a complaint from Ankit’s brother Aman Jha, a Delhi resident.
“Jha has left a suicide note. Investigation is on. No arrest has been made so far. We will soon record the statements of the suspects,” a police officer said.
