Sister Nivedita University, in its short tenure of five years has become one of the most seeked universities in India. The inviting campus, visionary leaders and capable faculty members have provided students with an urge for better learning. In the pandemic period of academic discord we have been a team of determined individuals who took it upon themselves to take online education to the next level of familiarity. This has proved to be immensely beneficial for the students, who were already into the system of online education with the Learning Management System in place in the University. However, with the modern means of education being taken into the hands of able executors, the university has grown in multiple dimensions.
The achievement of the University has been recognised by multiple prestigious houses that have given us accolades for the work that has been done during the last academic year. The University has been awarded with the title, “Best Private University” by Asian Education Awards in 2021; “Best Global University in Eastern India” by Zee 24 Ghanta; “India’s Number 4, West Bengal’s Number 1 and Kolkata’s Number 1 University” by Education World; “The Best Emerging University” by News 18 Bangla and “Premier Private University- Eastern India” by Tutopia and Zee Media.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor (Dr.) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay has been awarded with the prestigious “Academic Leadership Award” by Education Excellence, EEA 2021 for his able leadership under which the University has flourished to its current orientation. The Registrar of the University Prof. Suman Chatterjee has been awarded the “Most Iconic Registrar” at Asia GCC, Excellence and Leadership Awards” for his outstanding demeanour and approach towards the betterment of the University.
The heartwarming award of the “Best Media School in India” has been extended to the Sister Nivedita University School of Mass Communication and Journalism by Higher Education Review in 2021. The achievements of the University have been manifold even in terms of awards acquired by eminent faculty members. Dr. Minal Pareek, Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism has been awarded with the Global Annual Research and Excellence Award 2021 for Academic Excellence in the field of Mass Communication and Journalism. Dr. Rajat Pal, Head of the Departments of Microbiology and Biotechnology has been awarded with “Best Biology Professor of the Year” by Education Icon Award 2021, also Dynamic Teacher of the Year” award by Indian Shiksha Awards 2021 and “Young Professor of the Year” Education Excellence Award 2021. Dr. Atreyi Ghosh of the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology was awarded the “Woman Excellence Award” by the International society of Environmental Relationship and Sustainability. Dr. Fatema Calcuttawala, of the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology was awarded the “ Young Scientist Award” by International Scientist Awards 2021.
