Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao's party TRS had alleged that there was a conspiracy to illegaly induce and threaten four of their MLAs to change sides. Telangana Police can continue investigation regarding the poaching case, said the state High Court, as per media reports.
BJP had filed a petitiom in High Court where they demanded probe by a "neutral" agency, such as the CBI or a special investigation team (SIT). The court had put on hold the police investigation for the pending hearing on BJP's petition. But now, that stay has been removed. The court has also issued a notice to TRS to respond to BJP's demand to have an impartial investigation on November 18.
Meanwhile, KCR has recently renamed TRS to Bharat Rashtra Samithi hoping for extending national reach ahead of general election in 2024.
The party issued circulars in newspapers on Monday asking for any objection to renaming party, according to legal process.
K. Chandrashekar Rao called a news conference last week, and screened a series of videos which apparently backed his party's poaching charges against BJP.
He played just five minutes of the tapes, that he claimed was actually three hours of hidden camera footage.
