In a move towards a greener future, state-owned Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has teamed up with Bengaluru based start-up sentra.world to reduce carbon emissions in steel production, a critical step for environmental conservation.
The collaboration involves using sentra.world's cutting-edge software, designed to track and manage carbon dioxide emissions, at SAIL's Durgapur Steel Plant and its Environment Management Division.
This tool is set to play a vital role in identifying and implementing strategies to cut down carbon footprints within SAIL's operations, highlighting the company's dedication to eco-friendly practices.
Sentra.world specialises in offering SaaS-based carbon accounting solutions that utilise AI and blockchain technology, enabling industries to understand and reduce their environmental footprint. The platform aims to provide a comprehensive view of emissions, employing various methods for accurate assessments and helping prioritise effective decarbonization strategies.
Through Sentra.world's digital platform, SAIL aims to comprehensively monitor carbon dioxide emissions across various production facilities and sources. The platform employs diverse methodologies to accurately assess emissions while facilitating the prioritization of actionable strategies for decarbonization. Harsh Choudhry, CEO and Co-Founder of Sentra.world, shared his optimism about the venture, emphasising the importance of SAIL's role in the steel sector's move towards zero emissions. "Supporting SAIL on their journey to net zero emissions with our advanced digital platform is a matter of pride for us," he stated.
