SSB head constable run over at Nepal border

The incident occurred at Yogia Basti within the Indian territory under Ladania police station area close to the border on Monday night

Suspected smugglers ran their special utility vehicle (SUV) over Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel patrolling the Indo-Nepal border along Madhubani district of Bihar, leaving a head constable dead and a jawan injured.

The deceased head constable has been identified as Devraj, 45, of the 18th battalion of the SSB. He was a native of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh and was deployed at Rajnagar in Madhubani district in June this year.The incident occurred at Yogia Basti within the Indian territory under Ladania police station area close to the border on Monday night. Officials said the patrolling team signalled the SUV to stop. But it increased its speed, hit the personnel on duty and escaped.
