Srikant Jena, the Odisha leader expelled from the Congress, has reminded Rahul Gandhi of two “burning issues” on which the reply of the Congress president is awaited.
“I had… suggested that the Odisha Congress bring the issue of the mining scam (in the state) to the forefront and declare that upon coming to power we will confiscate the properties of all illegal mining owners, their patrons and press criminal charges. Do you agree with this?” Jena asked in a letter addressed to Rahul.
“It shocked me that you (Rahul was in Odisha on Friday) did not mention a single word about the mining scam….,” Jena said in the letter.
Jena added that he had suggested that the Congress “must make social justice an election issue by declaring that its chief minister will be from among the SC, ST and OBC communities…. Do you agree with this?”
