A SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Dubai with around 100 passengers was on Tuesday diverted to Karachi after the fuel indicator started malfunctioning, officials of aviation regulator DGCA said.
Another SpiceJet aircraft, a Q400, on Tuesday made a priority landing at Mumbai airport after its outer windshield cracked at an altitude of 23,000ft.
At least seven instances of glitches have been reported on SpiceJet planes in 17 days.
The Boeing 737 Max aircraft flying from Delhi to Dubai began showing unusual fuel quantity reduction from its left tank when it was mid-air, the officials said, prompting the flight to be diverted to Karachi.
An inspection at Karachi airport showed no leak in the left tank, the officials added.
In a statement, SpiceJet said: “On July 5, 2022, SpiceJet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-11 (Delhi-Dubai) was diverted to Karachi due to an indicator light malfunctioning. The aircraft landed safely at Karachi and passengers were safely disembarked.”
