A Sikkim police personnel on Monday shot dead three of his colleagues after they allegedly made some inappropriate remarks about his wife.
Sources in Delhi police said the accused Prabin Rai, 33, later went to a police station and surrendered.
The three deceased were also Sikkim police personnel and were deployed at a water treatment plant in the Haiderpur area of Delhi as part of the Indian Reserve Battalion.
“Our team rushed to the spot after getting the information and found three persons belonging to Sikkim police had been shot, of which two died on the spot and one was critical. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said a Delhi police official.
The accused Rai surrendered himself at Samaypur Badli police station after the incident.
“During preliminary interrogation, he told police that his three colleagues were torturing him mentally by passing inappropriate remarks about his wife,” the official said.
The incident comes barely two days after an ITBP jawan shot at and injured his three colleagues before shooting himself dead in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur camp on Saturday.
