Bangalore: For years, the south door of the chief minister’s office in Vidhana Soudha had remained shut because it was considered “inauspicious” but on Saturday Siddaramaiah had it opened for use.
The chief minister, who arrived at Vidhana Soudha to hold a meeting with senior officials on the Anna Bhagya scheme, noticed the south door closed.
When he asked officials about it, they told him the south door was considered inauspicious and hence was never opened.
Siddaramaiah stood in front of the door for a while and then directed the officials to open it.
After entering his office through the door, he explained his interpretation of “Vaastu”.
“A good Vaastu is one where you get a healthy mind, clean heart and concern for people. It should have natural light and fresh air coming in,” the chief minister said.
An official said: “To my knowledge, no chief minister had ever opened this door considering it inauspicious which can spell a doom on them and their political career.”
The door has been happened on a Saturday, a day identified by astrologers with Saturn, a planet that is feared for bringing misery, he added.
