The Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment police slapped non-bailable charges against Jayasurya for outraging the modesty of women, and sexual harassment and word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of women.

The actress has accused Jayasurya of grabbing her during the filming of a movie inside the state secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram.

She had also accused Mukesh, the CPM legislator from Kollam, of sexually misbehaving with her in a hotel room. The MLA has been booked under IPC Sections 343 (wrongful confinement), 509 (sexual harassment and word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of women) and 454 (trespass). A court has directed the police not to take any coercive action against Mukesh till September 3, based on a plea from the actor.

The others booked on Thursday include actor Edavela Babu, who had served as the general secretary of the top film body AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists).
