The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned by two weeks the hearing of JNU student Sharjeel Imam’s appeal for consolidation of multiple FIRs registered against him in various states for alleged sedition, after his lawyer sought permission to place certain additional documents on the issue.

Sharjeel was arrested on January 28 and is now in judicial custody. He is accused of delivering inflammatory speeches at a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
