Expressing concern over the current situation in Manipur, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has called upon the BJP-led governments in both the Centre and the state to “take all possible action for permanent peace and rehabilitation”.
“All sections of society are requested to speed up efforts to establish mutual harmony and peace (in Manipur),” the RSS said at the end of its three-day national conclave in Ooty on Saturday.
Manipur figured prominently at the All-India Prant Pracharak Baithak, an annual meeting of the RSS that mainly discusses organisational issues.
“In the meeting, it wasconsidered to expand the ongoing assistance by the Sangh swayamsevaks to the people suffering in Manipur,” RSS publicity head Sunil Ambekar said.
The meeting was chaired by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Notice to school
The chief educational officer of the Nilgiris has sought an “explanation” from the authorities of a private school near Ooty on a complaint by some parents that the school had declared 10-day holiday in view of the RSS conclave.
