A three-day annual meeting of the top decision-making body of the RSS began in Haryana on Sunday with the claim that the Hindutva outfit’s activity has increased substantially across the country.

Top leaders of the outfit, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, are participating in the meeting of the Pratinidhi Sabha — a representative council comprising around 1,400 leaders and workers from over 35 frontal outfits linked to the Sangh.

At the meeting, a number of resolutions will be passed that will give out the issues the RSS wants to push as the country gears up for the general elections next year.

The RSS leaders said the discussions on issues such as militancy in Punjab, population control, unemployment, increasing the participation of women in the Sangh and tackling negative perceptions about the RSS are likely to be discussed at the meeting.

At a media address at the start of the meet, the RSS joint general secretary Manmohan Vaidya claimed a substantial increase in the number of shakhas (congregations conducted by the RSS) across the country compared to last year.

Vaidya said shakhas were now being held at 4,710 new places and there has been an increase of 8,534 daily shakhas in 2023. “Saptahik milans (weekly congregations) have recorded a 30 per cent growth,” Vaidya claimed.

He also claimed that a large number of young and educated youths were showing interest in the Sangh to serve the nation.
