A Rajasthan sub-inspector's pre-wedding video shoot has got him the stick from his bosses because he starred in it wearing his uniform and the clip showed he had taken a bribe from his wife-to-be.

The video shows SI Dhanpal Singh stopping a woman on a two-wheeler because she wasn't wearing a helmet. The woman then tucks some money into his shirt pocket.

When the video was shot and circulated three months ago, it became viral. Now, the script has moved in another direction.

Singh's department superiors were furious as the video showed a uniformed cop 'accepting a bribe'.

Inspector-general (law and order) Hawa Singh Ghumariya has said the matter will be investigated. 'An advisory was sent to all the range IGPs nearly a week ago not to shoot videos in uniform as it creates a negative image of the police department,' Ghumariya said.

Udaipur superintendent of police Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said the police will examine the clip and if such a scene was enacted then the officer will be asked to give an explanation before any disciplinary action is taken against him.

Sub-Inspector Singh said he did not shoot the scene intentionally and had even asked the videographer to cut the scene as he was in uniform but he uploaded the entire video on social media, which has now landed him in trouble.

'The video was filmed three months ago. I was in uniform when the videographer asked me get a shot filmed. I was unaware of the scene. It was not my intention to film it,' he said.

Several people on Twitter laughed at the cop's video, while others said he had been honest in saying that a section of the force does take bribes.
