In a pioneering move aimed at providing seamless support and assistance to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann unveiled the state's latest initiative - the NRI punjab website, developed by the Governance Reforms department in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Marking the launch at a ceremony today, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his conviction that the newly inaugurated website would serve as a groundbreaking platform to address the concerns of the NRI community effectively. Emphasizing its role in ensuring the well-being of NRIs while fostering a connection with their roots, Mann highlighted the website's comprehensive features.

The user-friendly platform encompasses detailed information related to the NRI Police wing, Punjab State Commission for NRIs, and NRI Sabha. Additionally, the website streamlines access to various facilities offered by the state government with a single click, facilitating services such as document attestation and access to government schemes.

Chief Minister Mann underscored the website's commitment to convenience, offering a helpline number, email addresses, and a WhatsApp complaint number for visitors seeking assistance. The platform also provides information on registered travel and immigration agents, linking users to the centralised online complaint portal at www.connect.punjab.gov.in.

Envisioning the website as a catalyst for resolving challenges faced by NRIs, Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed his commitment to the well-being of the NRI community. As part of this commitment, he announced the organization of five NRI milnis in February, providing a platform for real-time resolution of issues faced by NRIs.

In a landmark move, the Chief Minister revealed plans for a dedicated "Facilitation Center" at the Arrival Hall of the International Terminal at IGI Airport. Operational 24x7, this center will extend support to arriving NRIs and other passengers, offering assistance on arrival and connecting flights, taxi services, lost luggage facilities, and more.

The state government's multifaceted approach, incorporating the cutting-edge website and on-ground facilities, reflects a robust commitment to the welfare and convenience of the NRI community. With these initiatives, Punjab seeks to create an environment that not only addresses immediate concerns but also fosters a lasting connection between NRIs and their home state.
