The Pune District Court has withdrawn its October 20 notice asking asking women lawyers not to fix their hair in open court.
In the notice issued by the district court, it has said that women advocates "arranging their hair in open court" is "disturbing funtioning of the cout".
The sexist notice drew huge backlash and criticism from the netizens after senior Advocate Indira Jaising posted about it on Twitter.
"Wow now look ! Who is distracted by women advocates and why!," tweeted Jaising.
"Maybe the advocates who get so easily distracted shouldn't be in the court in the first place?," one of the twitter users commente on the post.
"It’s absurd & none of the business of the judiciary. In simple words, it is judicial patriarchy," another user replied.
