Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on his mother at her home in Gandhinagar in Gujarat on Saturday, having spun the charkha to celebrate Khadi Ustav on the Sabarmati Riverfront.
On Sunday, the Prime Minister inaugurated Smriti Van memorial, which celebrates the resilience shown by people during the devastating 2001 earthquake in the Kutch region.
Modi recalled his grief when the earthquake struck and how, as a simple BJP worker, he reached there the second day. He did not forget to claim there was a conspiracy to defame Gujarat and stop investments in his home state.
Displaying such sharp memory skills, Modi did not mention one person from his home state: Bilkis Bano.
Neither did the Prime Minister refer to the release of the 11 convicted rapists and murderers in the Bilkis Bano case.
On Monday, it will be a fortnight since the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Independence were marred by the release of the convicts.
