Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called for a global strategy to deal with increasing transnational crimes like terrorism, money laundering andmisuse of artificial intelligence in the spirit of his pet theme — Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, or the world is one family — holding it up as the only way to combat the menace that has no international borders.

Inaugurating the International Lawyers Conference on Emerging Challenges in Justice Delivery System, organised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) in New Delhi, Modi also called for a strong and independent judiciary. He batted for judgments and laws to be simplified in both judicial language and one that can be easily understood by the common man.

“Today, there are many issues facing the world, like terrorism, cyber terrorism, money laundering and possibilities of misuse of artificial intelligence, which have assumed global proportions. When the problems are global and when the threats are global, the response should also be global, as every country should be inter-connected to deal with the problems,” the Prime Minister told the gathering.
