Poll consultant–turned–politician Prashant Kishor on Sunday announced that his yet-to-be-formed Jan Suraaj party would contest all the 243 seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, of which at least 40 seats would be given to women candidates.

He added that the people of Bihar would not have to migrate to other states for jobs worth 10,000-12,000 per month after the people’s government comes to power in the state. The Jan Suraaj party is expected to be formed on October 2 to coincide with Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

“Jan Suraaj is going to contest 243 seats in 2025, among which we will have women candidates on at least 40 seats. We have started a campaign to train around 70 to 80 women in five years, support them with our strength and management, and turn them into leaders,” Kishor told reporters.

Kishor was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of women connected with the Jan Suraaj campaign in Patna.

“This is not a meeting of our women’s cell. It is an effort to turn them into leaders in the true sense,” he said.
