A total penalty of over Rs 83 lakh was imposed on violators on Sunday by teams deployed to monitor the implementation of measures to combat pollution in Delhi-NCR under the Clean Air Campaign, the Central Pollution Control Board said.
The highest number of complaints related to illegal construction and demolition.
Union environment minister Harsh Vardhan had launched the Clean Air Campaign from November 1 to 10.
The teams of monitors are visiting various parts of Delhi and the adjacent towns of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Noida.
Based on 368 complaints, a total fine of Rs 83,55,000 was imposed on Sunday by 52 teams in Delhi, the Central Pollution Control Board said.
Some 119 complaints were received about illegal construction and demolition.
The other complaints related to vehicular emission, traffic congestion, industrial emission, garbage burning, leaf burning, road dust, unpaved roads, fire at landfill sites, air pollution from generators, among others, the Central Pollution Control Board said.
A total of 52 complaints were received through social media and email while 316 were received through the Sameer app developed by the Central Pollution Control Board.
Some 43 teams visited the sites of 248 complaints in Delhi while two teams attended to 11 complaints from Gurgaon, two teams to 31 complaints from Faridabad, two teams to 5 complaints from Noida and Greater Noida and three teams to 21 complaints from Ghaziabad.
A total penalty of Rs 80 lakh was imposed on the violators on Friday and Saturday by the teams.
