The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced that the Passport Seva Portal will be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled technical maintenance.
The downtime will start at 8:00 p.m. IST on Thursday, August 29, 2024, and will extend until 6:00 a.m. IST on Monday, September 2, 2024.
During this period, citizens will not be able to access any passport-related services.
Described as "scheduled planned maintenance," the Passport Seva Kendra’s website indicates that all appointments scheduled for Friday, August 30, 2024, have been cancelled.
Affected applicants will be notified via SMS with information about rescheduling.
This announcement was first made on the Passport Seva website and later shared by various Regional Passport Offices on social media.
Additionally, the General Enquiry Walk-In counter at the main office in Sector 34A, Chandigarh, will be closed on August 30, 2024.
During the maintenance period, other authorities, including the Bureau of Immigration (BOI), Department of Posts (DoP), and police departments, will also be unable to access the system.
