Three people lost their lives and six others were injured when an oxygen cylinder exploded while it was being refilled here on Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred at KT oxygen plant, station house officer of Chinhat police station Dhananjay Pandey said.

“Two injured are admitted at Ram Manohar Lohia hospital while four are undergoing treatment at the trauma centre of KGMU,” Lucknow district magistrate Abhishek Prakash said. A team has been formed to probe the incident, he said.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives.
