Odisha vigilance on Wednesday arrested Ramesh Chandra Jena, senior private secretary of panchayat raj and drinking water department for amassing huge properties disproportionate to the tune of 123 per cent to his known source of income.
The vigilance unearthed three buildings and five high-value plots, including 4 in upscale areas of Bhubaneswar and one in Kanasha in Puri. “Cash, gold and household articles worth around ₹9 lakh. After a thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Jena were calculated, and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 123 per cent of his known source of income, which he could not account satisfactorily,” the vigilance said in a press release.
