The Odisha government has enhanced the incentive for marrying divyang persons (persons with disabilities) from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2.50 lakh.
However, the couple have to meet some eligibility criteria to get the monetary benefits.
According to the revised guidelines, the bridegroom and the bride must have completed 21 years and 18 years of age, respectively, at the time of marriage.
It should be a dowry-free wedding and the couple should be residents of Odisha. Moreover, the spouses should not have availed of the incentive under this scheme earlier.
