The Odisha government has approved seven industrial projects worth Rs 2,083.88 crore.
The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority , headed by chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, on Friday approved the proposals, which include three grain-based ethanol plants, officials said. The projects aim to generate employment opportunities for over 2,144 people.
These projects include a 500KLPD (kilo litres per day) grain-based ethanol plant and a 8MW co-gen power plant by the IOCL at Rs 870 crore.
The project will be set up in the Balgopalpur Industrial Estate in Balasore district.
Another 500KLPD grain-based ethanol plant (in two phases) by the HPCL at Rs 500 crore will come up at Umerkote in Nabarangpur district. Besides, a 100KLPD grain-based ethanol plant along with compressed biogas plant of 12TPD (tonnes per day) capacity and a 2.20MW co-gen power plant by Newalt Energy Private Limited at a total investment of Rs 125 crore will be set up in Angul district.
“Government of India has fixed a target of 10 per cent blending of fuel-grade ethanol with petrol by 2022 and 20 per cent blending by 2025. The three approved units will surge to the existing capacity and help reduce the carbon footprint,” an official said.
A multi-modal logistics park to be built at Kujanga in Jagatsinghpur district by International Cargo Terminals and Infrastructure Private Limited at an investment of Rs 150 crore has also got the approval from the state. Aditya Birla Renewables Limited’s 18.75MW solar power plant at Saintala in Balangir district to be built at a cost of Rs 89.44 crore has also got the nod.
A five-star hotel in Bhubaneswar by Atmosphere Core India Private Limited at Rs 184.64 crore has also been approved. Another five-star hotel built by D.N. Homes Private Limited at a cost of Rs 164.80 crore will come up at Chandaka Industrial Estate in Khurda district.
