Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday flagged off 34 cyber safety awareness raths from Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar to educate people about various cyber crimes and the need for cyber safety.
The raths will cover all the police stations and blocks of the state. They will also touch schools and colleges. The campaign will continue till October 15.
At least two meetings on cyber crimes will be held per day. The awareness meetings will be held at marketplaces on roadsides.
On October 8, mini-marathons will be organised at different urban centres. An evening walk will be organised on October 14 with the participation of senior citizens. On October 15, the concluding day, meetings will be organised at the district level. Freedom fighters and national awardees will attend the function.
The Odisha police’s campaign mascot is named Cyrra by merging the words cyber crime and Irrawaddy dolphin.
Director general of police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal and other officials were present on the occasion.
