Engineer Pradeep Kumar Rath started his job at a paltry ₹ 2,000 per month stipend.
But during his long career spanning over 33 years, engineer Rath has amassed huge properties to the tune of ₹14 crore, including one kg of gold and 50 plots.
The vigilance stumbled upon such huge properties when it raided the house of the additional chief engineer, Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC), Pradeep Kumar Rath.
Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested the additional chief engineer, Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation, Rath for possession of disproportionate assets of ₹14 crore. The engineer could not satisfactorily account for the huge properties.
His assets of ₹14 crore include two multi-storeyed buildings, three flats in Bhubaneswar, 50 plots, one medicine store, one crusher unit, one kg gold, deposits approximately ₹2 crore, two JCBs, one excavator, one rock breaker, and two four-wheelers.
