Odisha: Bhubaneswar AIIMS to open new sections for infectious diseases, bioinformatics, biostatistics

AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, is set to open three more departments dealing in infectious diseases, bioinformatics and biostatistics.

This was announced by executive director, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Dr Ashutosh Biswas on the occasion of the 11th annual day of the institute on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Biswas pointed out that the standing academic committee of the institute has given its approval for the opening of these three departments.

He said the institute has commenced several new academic programmes, including a six-year M.CH paediatric surgery course, a DM course in paediatric pulmonology and intensive care and specialised programmes in paediatric infectious diseases and DM nephrology.

Chief guest Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, director, IIT, Bhubaneswar congratulated AIIMS, for its outstanding healthcare services.
