The deceased, Rambali Yadav of Masaurhi in Patna district and Kashi Chandravanshi of Afzalpur in Jehanabad district, were identified as occultists. Rambali performed occult rituals for his clients while Kashi assisted him.

Both had left home on Wednesday.

“Someone had invited my father to perform some rituals. He left for work but was in touch with me over the phone. He talked to me on Thursday night and suspected a threat to his life. His phone was switched off after that. The police informed me about his murder on Friday evening,” Rambali’s son Rahul Kumar said.

According to the police, prima facie, the duo were killed somewhere else and their bodies were later thrown in the field near the canal.

Each body bore a bullet mark, said a police source.

“We have started investigations into the double murder by unidentified people. We are trying to trace the people who invited the two tantriks and what transpired thereafter,” Kako station house officer and trainee deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Sangita Kumari told reporters.
