Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on the Congress saying if it comes to power in Haryana even by mistake, stability and development will be at stake because of its "infighting" and this will ruin the state.

Addressing a poll rally in Gohana in this district for the October 5 assembly polls, he also said 10 years ago, the Congress had handed over Haryana to "dalals (middlemen) and damad (son-in-law)".

He lashed out at the Congress over the issue of reservation, alleging opposing reservation and and hatred towards it are in its DNA.

Modi, who began his speech in chaste Haryanvi and greeted the people with 'Ram Ram', slammed the main opposition party, saying Congress governments are known for "instability".

Warning voters, he said, "Haryana has to be cautious. Haryana has right over me. Remember, if Congress comes to power even by mistake, it will ruin Haryana due to its infighting." "The way infighting is rising in Congress, entire Haryana is watching," he said.

Voting for Congress means putting Haryana's stability and development at stake and opening the doors of destruction, he further said.

"This instability will stop every work in Haryana. Investment and jobs will be impacted", said Modi, adding "Haryana ko damad aur dalal se bachana hai (the state has to be saved from middlemen and son-in-law)," in an apparent reference to Robert Vadra's land deals.

He also referred to his US visit, saying he met big leaders and representatives of big companies. "I told them about the talent of Indian youths." During the past 10 years, the trust towards India has increased in the entire world, he said.

India is progressing after getting free from corruption and "parivar vad" (nepotism). The world feels that in the times to come, if any country that will move ahead the fastest, it is India, Modi said.

Targeting the Congress over the issue of corruption, Modi cited an example of Congress-ruled Karnataka, saying Chief Minister Siddaramiah was facing an accusation of land scam and even the high court has also stated that probe against him was right.

"In the past few years wherever it formed governments, chief ministers and ministers were involved in infighting. They have nothing to do with the pain and problems of the people," Modi said as he cited the example of Congress-ruled Karnataka.

"In Karnataka, its chief minister and deputy chief minister are busy in internal fighting. In Telangana and Himachal Pradesh, it is the same story," he said in his second rally in the state, the first being over a week ago in Kurukshetra.

Modi also mentioned about alleged infighting in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh when the Congress was in power there.

The ruling BJP has been targeting the Congress over alleged infighting in its Haryana unit and even claimed that Lok Sabha member and prominent Dalit leader Kumari Selja is unhappy with her party over ticket distribution and so is staying away from the poll campaign.

Former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had also invited Selja to join the BJP but she dismissed any possible switch, saying, "I am a Congress person, I will remain a Congress person." In his speech, Modi said whenever the Congress remained out of power, the poor, SC, ST and OBC got their due rights.

Whenever the Congress remained in power, it snatched rights of Dalits and downtrodden, he alleged.

Whoever became prime minister from Congress's 'royal family', they always opposed reservation, he said.

"Opposition and hatred towards reservation are in Congress party's DNA. That is why today we are seeing that fourth generation of the royal family of the Congress wants to remove reservation. You have to be cautious of Congress party's anti-reservation tactics," he said.

Wherever Congress sets its foot, there are corruption and favouritism, Modi alleged.

He blamed the Congress saying when they were in power, corruption flourished in the country's governance system.

"Congress ka shahi parivar, desh ka sabse brasht parivar hai. (Congress' royal family is country's most corrupt family)," he alleged.

And when the high command is corrupt, down below there is licence for open loot, said Modi.

Referring to alleged infighting in the Haryana Congress, Modi said it was the result of its "old sins".

Before 2014, when Bhupinder Singh Hooda was the chief minister, there was not even a single year when "injustice" was not done to Dalits, he alleged.

Many Dalits lost their lives and atrocities were committed against Dalit daughters, he further alleged.

Everybody knew that the Congress was behind the "heinous game" against the Dalits, he said.

Anyone speaks against the Congress "anti-Dalit" move, it starts conspiring against them, he said.

"The Dalit community is today watching the Congress drama which is taking place here," he said.

The Congress always deprived Dalits, OBC and tribals from participation, he said.

The BJP gave participation, in true sense to Dalit, OBC and tribals while it worked to take forward deprived and backward sections, Modi said.

"In Haryana, you see BJP made Nayab Saini (who comes from OBC community) chief minister. In short time, Saini has created a place in hearts of people of Haryana," he said.

Referring to Karnataka and the allegations against Siddaramiah, Modi said, "When a probe started, the chief minister moved the high court. The court yesterday made it clear that the order for probe was right." "Can you give a contract to them (Congress) for doing this sin in Haryana? Can you allow them to enter? Do not make a mistake. They cannot mend their ways," Modi said.

It is not only a land scam issue in Karnataka. Congress party's president also comes from Karnataka and he belongs to the Dalit community. Congress made corruption in funds meant for Dalits in Karnataka. The CM and the state government have acknowledged this in the Vidhan Sabha," he said.

Whether any investor will make investment in a state where corruption exists, he asked the gathering.

No party can be more deceitful and dishonest than Congress in the country, he alleged.

Modi also said the BJP government in Haryana has decided to buy 24 crops at MSP.

"When the Congress was in power, it hated buying crops at MSP. It is the truth of the Congress," he said and asked the farmers of Haryana to recognise it completely.

He also referred to his government's decision of removing minimum export price on basmati, saying it will benefit paddy growers.

He spoke about raising tax on import of edible oil, saying it will benefit farmers of 'tilhan' and sunflower crops.

The future of farmers and youths is safe under the BJP rule, Modi said.

There was no allegation of corruption on the Haryana chief minister in the past 10 years, he claimed.

Congress did not give even one job in which "kharchi and parchi" (corruption and favouritism) was not prevalent. There was corruption in government contracts. Corrupt Congress looted Haryana and you will have to keep they at bay, Modi told the gathering.

"You have right over me, I too have to repay Haryana's debt," he further said, adding he has received lot of love from people of the state.
