RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Friday asserted that the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre would fall by August and asked his party workers to stay alert for another election.
He also indicated that his younger son Tejashwi Yadav was the leader of the RJD and authorised him to take all party decisions. “The Modi government in Delhi is very weak. It can collapse by August. I appeal to RJD workers to stay ready because elections may happen anytime,” Lalu said.
“I request you all to stay together and strengthen the party under the leadership of Tejashwi. He will make future decisions related to the party,” the RJD chief said at the party’s 28th foundation day celebrations in Patna.
Lalu expressed satisfaction with the RJD’s performance in the Lok Sabha polls in which it won four out of the 40 seats but emerged with the highest vote share of 22.14 per cent compared to the BJP’s 20.52 and the JDU’s 18.52.
