A 25-year-old junior resident doctor at King George’s Medical University in the Uttar Pradesh capital has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after coming in contact with two patients undergoing treatment for the infection, the hospital said on Wednesday.
Later the university announced the suspension of all undergraduate classes and examinations till April 2.
The doctor has been kept in an isolation ward.
The doctor had begun showing symptoms after collecting the samples of the two patients — a woman from Canada and a relative. The doctor underwent a test at the hospital itself and was found to have contracted the virus.
