Late Jammu politician Bhim Singh’s son Ankit Love has alleged his mother was murdered and that the conspirators included some BJP leaders, whom he has not named.

The UK-based Love, 39, had tendered a public apology to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get permission to visit India for his mother Jay Mala’s cremation in Jammu. He had earlier been blacklisted for taking part in a protest against the Indian government.

Mala, an advocate, reportedly fell down the stairs at her home in Jammu on April 25 and died the following day.

Bhim, founder of the Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party, had died in Jammu last year.

Love has in a Facebook post said he filed an FIR with Jammu and Kashmir police on May 12 against his cousins Mrignayani Slathia and Vilakshan Singh in connection with the alleged murder of his mother and “theft of her properties and money”.

Love says he has submitted evidence to the police.

Vilakshan headed Bhim’s faction of the Panthers Party since the veteran’s death. Love, the party patron, has expelled Vilakshan from the party, calling him a “secret agent” of the BJP.

“My mother, as an ardent secularist, has always stood opposed to (the) BJP. But Vilakshan and Mrignayani were in constant touch with some BJP leaders and their agents to break the JKNPP,” Love says in his post.

“The call details of Mrignayani and Vilakshan would reveal the names of those BJP co-conspirators ultimately responsible for Jay Mala’s murder.”

Mrignayani and Vilakshan have denied the allegations.

BJP spokesperson Arun Kumar Gupta has dismissed the charges.
